Definitely go with a Pacman. I sold mine recently (kicking myself hard for it too). It was an amazing animal, though i don't recommend getting your finger too close to the mouth end:wall: At the size of a golf ball, mine managed to swallow (literally) my index finger to the knuckle and refuse to let go for over a half hour. Savage, savage frogs, but by far my favorite! You can find pacman frogs on kingsnake.com occasionally, also.

I don't really think they're savage. I've trained mine to let go of my finger when he bites it. He can differentiate between my finger and food.

If you've ever seen one kill a mouse, they just latch on till it suffocates.

They're enthusiastic towards food, but not too bright (IMO)

I meant that they are savage for frogs, lol. They are the only frog I have ever seen bite and latch on to a person lol. How did you go about training it to let go of your finger? When mine bit me, I didn't want to move much or anything, seeing as how most of my finger was in its stomach, I didn't want to risk injury lol.

what type of frogs or toads interest you? there are many frogs and toads that are easy to keep and are very hardy. White's tree frogs are one of the easiest to keep. red eyed tree frogs are somewhat easy to keep and very beautiful. keep in mind that most frogs and toads are nocturnal.

I honestly don't know...I used to feed it pinkies by hand and it would bite me and latch on. I guess 20 minutes of hanging by it's mouth once a week just kind of taught it not to do that anymore.

They do have a rather well developed feeding reflex.

This spring, I am picking up another Horned frog, a pixie frog and some beetles...hopefully. I'm having car troubles now and might have to fork over $1000 and if I do, I'm just going to hold off on getting pets for another year. :(

Pacman frogs really aren't that active unless they are feeding. Mine just sat there 90% of the time. It would hop here and there, but mostly just dug into the substrate and kicked back lol. My knowledge of frogs/toads is very limited, I have only had three species. Pacman Frog, White's Tree Frog, and Gray Tree Frog.

I have a gulf coast toad that is pretty cool. She is active and fun to watch. Go to www.NatureCoastexotics.com. They have a good selection of frogs and toads at good prices and they are really healthy.
