so i drop a medium cricket in to my new and first tarantula this morning... he/she was in its hide decorating i guess... cricket walks around a little gets colse to the hide and all i see is these little dark legs dart out and grab the cricket and drag it back into the hide. i didnt get to watch it eat, but its okay. maybe next week.

You're luckier than I am. With this new batch of T's, I have yet to witness one catching its prey!! I see them eat all the time, but they wait for the second I turn away to catch anything.

Coolest feeding I have seen so far was from my Avicularia Versicolor. it always catches it's food in cool ways. Last week when I was putting the cricket in, the versi caught the cricket in mid air before the cricket even hit the ground. That was cool to see. This this week my versi was up in the fake plant on a leaf and the cricket was on the ground. My versi jumped from the leaf and landed right on the cricket. the carried the cricket back up to it's resting spot to eat. I also got to see my Brachypelma Emilia pounce on a cricket once, but that wasn't as cool as what my versi has done so far.
