Going through my workshop I found I had enough stuff to repair a broken fish tank and make it bigger and add doors etc and make a bigger enclosure for my tree frogs.
The actual tank build was a borderline disaster which I'm not
keen on getting into, but in the end I ended up with a useable although not very pretty enclosure and it looked like this.
I'm not real happy with it but I am already gathering materials to make another one without the mistakes.
Background build.
I wanted to make use of as much internal area as I could so didn't use expanding foam, I had some fake rocks I had made for another enclosure, so trimmed and glued these directly to the glass and also began making roots to give the background some texture.
I couldn't find the right driftwood pieces I wanted so I decided to make my own from PVC pipe, I used a grinder, drill and heat gun and built up areas with a non toxic builders bog to build up areas.
Background with fake logs attached and fake vine/roots added in.
It's starting to look like something now, and the background has multiple hiding spots.
First placement of plants, I'm using tough, large leaved species- philodendron erubescens, the largest leaved pepperomia I could find and of course pothos.
