First corn snake

Just brought this wee baby home at the weekend. He's three months old and taking fiuzzy mice now, but he spends all his time hiding away. Very pleased with him though as he's a pretty wee soul. Anyway here are the pics...






I love how baby snakes have MASSIVE eyes, it makes them look constantly shocked. {D


Never kept corn snakes before so this is a first for me, I've kept a few garters and the last of them died in the summer at 8. He was a fantastic wee snake and dog tame, didn't wriggle about like the others I had. :( I asked my mum and dad if I could be a corn snake for my 21st birthday and after a bit of this...

mum: Ask your dad.
dad: Ask your mum.
mum: Your dad has the authority not me!
dad: I have no authority ask your mum.

I've a feeling they're as excited as I am, they liked my last wee garter too but i reckon my mum has blabbed to all my relatives as I got messages from my aunt and gran at the weekend asking what I was going to call him. :?

He's so cute! (U usually dont hear that for snakes but HE IS!) Just wait till he gets to be a good 3 ft. like mine! :eek: You'll have so much fun. Best of luck caring for him! :)

looks like a normal phase to me. nice corn they are my favorite colubrids

congrats on the first corn....i've collected scorpions and tarantulas for a while and my girlfriend just bought me my first snake this past saturday....a baby amelanistic corn....mine's only about 14-15" long and still munching pinkies....here's a couple cam-phone pics that are not that great but you get the idea....

That's funny, I got my one lastSaturday too but mine wasa 21st birthday pressie from my parents. :)

well happy belated birthday....mine was an early b-day gift from my girlfriend....seems to be a popular gift this year....

Maybe its just me, But I really love to name my snakes. Are either of you thinking of names? :confused:

mine is named Hades....i'm not sure if it's male or female yet....but my girlfriend bought it and liked the name....so Hades it is....

i've wanted an amel corn for a while....South Mountain Reptiles has some beautiful ones that i want....i think my next will be a Bloodred or a Motley Sunglow Corn Snake from them....
