And it wasn't too terrible. I know these and the other "feeder" species are clean, but I've had a long time problem with roaches. Of course I'm on some medication to help me sleep tonight that might have just broken the barrier. I'm glad, it will make catching them much easier for Ts dinner

LOL I hear ya!! when I first got hissers it was rather disconcerting to hold them..but now I grab them and flop em around and its no big deal!!! Mine are all quite tame now! My girls and I hold them all the time! (No I really dont "flop" them around) I love the big ole females....we have a few that are pushing 4 inches!!! :O and a male that has horns so long its spooky!!....the females luv him :D

ROFLMAO...

Ok, I MUST ask, especially since there's another thread going on @ the Tarantula Forum about "Feeding Feeders".
How "easy" do Ts accept hissers if they're only used to crickets? Can slings be offered hissers as well? How many hissers can be kept in a tiny Kritters Keeper, and how long do hissers live?

Sorry about all those questions.

Well, I'm thinking that the adults might be too much for all but the largest hugriest Ts... but the nymphs are without all the body armour and come in sizes that you can feed to any. The large ones can surely be wrestled by centipedes and herp if you have them... Looks like for my my singe pede will be taking them out

As for others, other than Blaberus giganteus all are good feeders. I personally look for species that can not climb glass, which keeps me from Lobster roaches so much. Those are the fastest breeder by far and can be viable after 3-4 months for heavy feeding

Here are my favorite non-climbing species...
Blaberus discoidalis
Blaberus cranifer
Blaberus fuscus
Blaptica dubia
Eublaberus posticus
Archimandrita tessellata

be warned that these take longer to use heavily as feeders, and sometimes my excitement to see a roach "get it due" has led to my having to buy refills.

Haven't tried picking up these smaller ones yet with anything other than my tongs, but these at least for some amount of time don't have too much of a roachy look to them  :D

Can't say the medications won't be broached for breaking me into them
