I guess this is the right place to post this LOL

Got a call tonight from Stan Schultz - he said he was in the area, about 10 min from my house and would my wife and I like to come out and meet him? Of course we accepted that invitation and headed out. Got to have dinner with Stan and talked T's - it was a lot of fun and both Stan and his wife are just awesome people!! Thanks again, Stan!! We appreciate you taking the time out to meet with some of your biggest fans!

Me, my wife & stan (God my wife is short LOL):

I'm from calgary, alberta. Where stan used to live, I have yet to meet him but know several people that were good personal friends of his and his wife. I've heard he is one of the nicest people you could ever meet, one of the most genuine and compassionate people. Lol I heard a strange story from a friend and she said that you would have never guessed that Stan and his wife were into spiders.
I'm supposed to be getting a B. Vagans that was originally owned by Stan. I'm pretty excited. I am still wanting to meet Stan yet, him being a snowbird and taking off for most of the winter doesn't help. Lol. He recently posted on a local forum and he said that he is no longer keeping T's because it was too hard to take back and forth across the boarder. Is that true?
Must have been a hell of a good time to finally meet him. is he as great a person as I've been led to believe?

Agreed 150%...Stan is amazing, the L.A.T.E. (lansing area tarantula enthusiasts) crew got a chance to have him over back in april and i must say, it was an experience i will not soon forget. it didnt matter if u were a veteran T keeper or someone who was thinking about getting their first arachnid he was on level with everyone. extremely humble as well, he repeatedly told us he wasnt anything special, even though to us he was. i really hope that lansing gets a chance to meet with him again in the near future.

I haven't either, but not because I didn't want to, I haven't been able to find a copy.
My local bookstore didn't have a copy in either, but I requested that they order it in from another bookstore for me. The bookstore sales clerk was surprisingly open minded and told me she doesn't have a fear of spiders but birds. So she asked me about my interest in them as pets, which was nice, because I was expecting a different reaction.

I always love it when people give different responses than you expect. I might have to try that, I think i asked and they couldn't, but its worth a shot.

I got mine from Amazon. It always saves the day for me when I can't find a certain book.

If you ever do take the time to write a book on tarantulas, Rob I'd love to get a copy. I'll pay a little extra for an autographed one(don't skimp on the pics). ;) :D

BTW, does the Mrs. know you posted pics with her on them? I know she's been camera-shy on YouTube. Hehe!
