Found in a parking lot.

Do they accept waxworms or only real caterpillars?

They will also eventually eat a roach.

BTW - did you find it in the day or night. I found one in a parking lot also (at night).

I didn't know they had stink...I was picking him up and everything! Made him real mad.

Found it at night, I was standing outside of work and saw something fall from the sky out of nowhere and land with a "clink" on the pavement. Thought it was a small stag beetle from where I was standing and got a nice surprise.

This is actually only the second one I have ever seen. The first? Splattered in the middle of a wide-open sidewalk with a big fat shoe print. People are disgusting.

These things are all over the place here, only of a different color morph, they are more black around here with a slight green tinge...same thing though, and they stink a lot. they just end up being eatin by either my cats, wolf spiders, or scorpions, never thought to keep them, are they easy to keep? if so, how would you keep them? in two-three nights of searching i could easly have a nice colony going so i might start one if they are interesting at all. anyone have a list of ways to care for them?

the adults can live up to 4years(not bad for a beetle) in breeding:semimoist fairly deep substrate, good amount of room, places to hide, and feed very well, keep several adults together, and wait for party time{D

And the question of the hour...

Does anybody sell these so I can try just that? :)

S/he is currently in a small octagonal fishtank with about five inches of eco-earth, made a nice little tunnel and has eaten several very large crickets now.
