depends on where you live - in the us i believe they are more expensive, in germany i only got about 60$ for a mature female (pre-molt) and a just matured male together.
this seems a hard concept for most people to understand but there is not that much of an established like, price index for our inverts
basically what you are looking at is multivariable functions.
there are trends/rules that i think are generally true, however.
hobbyist-seller prices are the most erradic, with the highest and lowest prices available.
dealer-seller prices are typically consistantly higher, but the quality of the animals and transaction is typically high also. also, dealers typically have well established DOA credit policies.
from a seller perspective, the lower you set a price the faster you will sell your tarantula.
as far as pricing a species goes, this seems to be typically true:
mature captive bred females are the most expensive "version"
mature WC females and subadult CB females are around the same value, but less than mature CB fem
ultimate or close males fit in around here, and it seems like typically people are less concerned about WC/CB with males
unsexed WC subadults and unsexed CB juvs
sexed spiderlings
unsexed spiderlings
the range can be around 3-20x for the cheapest version of a spider and the most expensive.
something like a P. metallica is going for ~$175 for an unsexed CB spiderling right now... a mature CB female is probably ~$700-1000. that is the pricing trend of a less established species.
your tigerrump cost ~$6-10 for a sling from a hobbyist, perhaps even less if you bought in bulk. the same sling is probably gonig to run you more like $12-20 from a dealer. i would buy a mature female of unknown origin for ~$70 from a hobbyist and wouldn't buy one from a dealer as you can expect to probably pay about twice that
I wouldnt buy it for any more then 45$ personally part of that is because I like to see them grow. I would be much more likly to pay 60$ for a 2" confirmed female because I know its going to be around for a long time as opposed to a 4" female.
