I caught my big female P. metallica molting and she had made a hamock about 10"+ above the ground. When she started molting I noticed she was at a bad angle and there was a hole in the bottom right side of the hammock and of course as she molted she made her way towards the hole. I put a towel under her and not 1 minute later she fell maybe a 1/2" onto the towel, if the towel was not there this would have been a very bad day!!

Here is a time-lapse molt and a vid of where & how she fell!

Here are some molting pics (Ones I could get LOL):

What a beauty! When I first read the thread title, and saw that it was posted by you, I assumed you had almost gotten tagged again.

I imagine you'll be breeding this girl again soon?

Oh yeah!!! I have a MM, and a penultimate male amd I have another 4" P. metallica that was sexed male but ended up being female...so I will keep trying. What is odd is after she ate the sac the first time she started webbing up right were she molted, I believe she knew she waqs going to molt before the egg sac was ready.

Good save Rob, oh and since you seem to have an extra P. metallica female, you can send her my way if you like ;)

I swear...your pictures are almost unreal. They always bring out the color in every T. Good focus too, never a blur in sight.

You better get your wife some flowers or something Rob, lol. Nice call by her with the towel.

She is stunning! Good save, glad you caught her in the process. She looks a little darker than she did, best to my memory, but I think she looks better! Seems like there is quite a bit of black in there. I wonder if the black or dark form of P. metallica is just an older, more mature individual.
Anyhow, good luck on the next breeding attempt, I'll have my fingers crossed for you!

She actually has a lot of blue, some reason the angle of the pic shows a lot of black LOL!!
