Feel so happy right now..

This female (ID's here) A. avicularia which is my first T has been doing great.. Such milestones to behold in the past 3 weeks.

From a lethargic living rock in daytime to the Spidey 400 at night around the tank she has each day grown bolder and stronger.

Tonight, after papering her tank sides with dark paper/board I replaced the standard 20w standard clear bulb with a deep red `party bulb`.

While the evening progressed she seemed to come out earlier than normal and I decided while a day earlier than her typical 3-4 day feeding schedule I would give her a shot at the night hunt/feed.

To my amazement as soon as the cricket hit the substrate she was on the prowl searching.. Once caught it was quickly snagged and drug back to the false wall on the back. From here she proceeded to do her Feeding Waltz/Dance which was the first time I've ever experienced this with her or even any T.

I so love my little girl and trying my hardest to give her the best life I can.

Korney, I know but.. I'm so `bit` by these little marvels now my wife is about ready to have me committed :D

Awesome stuff!! Feeding waltz...hehehe...never heard it referred to as anything but the "happy dance", but I like it. Whenever I hear someone say that tarantulas are boring, I would love to be able to show them the act of the hunt, pounce, and dance. Anything but boring!

So how big is she? And can you post pictures?

to cute!! I haven't gotten to see this behavior yet, my female B. smithi just attacks and eats, and my MM A. avic has refused to eat anything since I got him over a month ago.
