Feeding my jumping spider after laying an egg sac

Hey guys, I know my jumping spider is hungry because every morning I see her just outside her web dome with the eggsac. Her abdomen is smaller than her cephalothorax as well. But the tiniest portion of her web dome is brushed up against the wall with a door on it, so when I open it is rumbles the dome but doesn’t break any webs. When I do this (have only done it once to water), she runs inside her web dome and threat poses towards me. So should I drop in a roach and let it roam around until she de stresses and finds it? I’m worried the roach will burrow (only about half an inch of sub) and roaches are currently the only food I have for her, usually she’s taken crickets. I can go buy a couple crickets because I need to buy a flightless fruit fly culture for the babies anyway, but the roaches are not bigger than her.

photo below is before she actually laid eggs, but you can see how it’s slightly touching the door.

edit-also it has been a full week since she laid eggs.

I've had similar questions myself and haven't gotten anything yet on how to care for moms after sac is laid. Both my moms are still in with their sacs. Hopefully, by bumping your post, someone will answer lol. Congrats on your future spiderlings.

If they lay an egg sack, all you can do Is hold prey with tweezers outside the nest and see if she will take it, and put some water droplets outside the nest for her to drink.

Will she catch food without tweezers? Both of my girls' sacs are in hard to reach places and I'm not good with tweezers yet. lol

I dropped in a small cricket and a couple flies and I kept checking every 30 minutes to make sure the cricket didn’t mess anything up and after a bit I found her eating the cricket 👍 that was pretty much a full week after laying the eggs

That's good to hear. My girls both laid theirs yesterday, though. My tan jumper is where she can probably catch food if it gets close enough to her sac, but my audax is in the corner of a critter keeper. She ate a cricket before she made the sac, so maybe that will help sustain her until she's ready to come out.

Make sure that they are at least getting water even if they don't eat. I learned that the hard way. Super easy way is to take a dropper and place a few drops around the nest, sometimes they will come right out and suck on the droplet.
Also make sure to keep humidity up. Just keep trying to offer food everyday if they don't eat, along with the water regardless.

ive been dropping in a relatively high amount of water every 2 or 3 days because everytime I open the enclosure I freak her out because her nest is laid up against the door partially 👍
