One of my last superworms started pupating and would wriggle really hard if I touched it. So since I planned on feeding the worm this feeding day, I fed him the pups instead. He started eating it but is eating it slowly, still in his chelicerates 40 mins later.

I’m curious if this is a common thing or if it’s not recommended as to why. Thanks!

Unknown. One off circumstances. In situ they capture prey in the dark and take it to their hide or burrow with it. In bright light the individuals just cope as best then can.

Always keep in mind in their native habitat Asian scorpions out in the open in illuminated areas are all the same: dead and being eaten. Wide open targets for dozens of species of birds, both day and night hunters. What they do in the light out in the open is unnatural and will always be random.

Just be sure to rinse the pupae off good first.
