Hey guys Iam about to head out to the pet store to see if they have any kind of feeder roaches and was wondering what is the avg. price so I dont get scammed.
The price would depend on the species, but people who buy them in groups here on the boards universally pay way less than anyone who does magically find a pet store with the roaches. In pet stores I think people usually find big roaches, like dubia and discoid, and find them for like a buck a piece. It's pretty expensive by our standards, but it's not a scam. The prices in the two markets (pet stores vs online) just differ significantly.

What part of the country are you in? I've seen them advertised on Craig's List for free after people clean out their colonies and don't feel like picking out the small nymphs.
