Feeder Roach Problem

I have a new colony of B. latteralis that I am having tons of trouble with. I was told they couldn't climb up the sides of rough tote type box, so that is what I set up for them. Unfortunately they are able to climb up the sides. I have put vaseline around the top and they are also going right on over it. I used crossstitch panel for venilation panels on the top and the nymphs are able to climb up and go through it. So here are my questions:
1. Is there anything I can do to try and recapture all of the escapees?
2. What can I do to kill the escapees if recapture is not a viable option?
3. What can I keep these things in that they won't be able to get out of? I put a couple in an aquariu and they couldn't climb the glass, but went right up the silicone in the corners.
4. Should I just quit while I am ahead and move on to a slower species like dubias or discoids? I really do not want my house infested with roaches!
Sorry this is so long, but I am having tons of problems here.

You should invest in some bug boundery. Its slicker then vaseline, they won't be able to climb over it. Its strange they can climb the vaseline at all, mine can't. How thick do you put it on and how wide is the strip?

Oh, and its the slick sided containers they can't climb out of.

For my lateralis, I use a very slick & smooth Rubbermaid container that I got from Target. It is a bluish hued see through color & I've never had an escape from this container. I put a ton & I do mean tons of tiny little holes in the lid for ventilation & don't even use a heat source. They breed like crazy & no escape problems & NO climbing either.

I just moved them over to an old plastic cooler I had laying around. No more climbing! It was just the style of tote I had gotten, a little too rough. I know better for next time (I will probably get an other species of roach, or 2 or 3...{D ). Thanks for the help everyone.
