Hello everyone, I have gotten some roaches from my LPS and I haven't been able to find an ID on these guys from sites / AB board members so I thought I would ask the public here. My Ornata had one of these today. Of course no one in the petstore had a clue what kind they are. Thanks guys! and sorry if this is in the wrong section

Probably one of the common Blaberus sp., like fusca or discoidalis. You'll know when one matures...

Ah, so what are the signs of a matured roach? I'm guessing these dudes probably aren't worth .99 a piece either, or even close to that, looks like I should stick with internet dealers!

Doesn't sound real expensive to me. You always pay a lot more when you buy them individually like that. Internet dealers are cheap per roach if you buy enough. But there's shipping costs and you have to know what you want in advance.

But yeah, buying on arachnoboards is basically the way to go with these things. At least in the summer when you can get cheap shipping.

About the mature roach thing...they will look different. It depends on the species but they all look noticeably different upon maturing.

Look for wings and shineyness.

species

Most likely Blaberus discoids as they are a very popular species. For my T's I mainly use B dubia, lobsters, and lateralis. Yes buy from the AB dealers. lol{D

you know, james, I saw you mentioned in one of the Reptile magazines I get. It might have been the march issue.
