I've been wondering if there are any small insects that are easy to breed as feeders. By small I mean less than an inch. Anything besides fruit flies, their culture rots too quickly.

Breed roaches and just feed off the nymphs. Small meal worms might work, depends on what your feeding!

An inch is pretty small. Most crickets fit that description.

But for a feeder colony, Blatta lateralis are quite small, even when adults. But yea, you can use their nymphs too as they are not given to burrowing the way many roach nymphs are.

Larder beetles + me = no way buddy.

I have B. dubias, but even their nymphs are still a little too big for what I'm shooting for. Maybe a couple of springtails.
