Sorry I tried finding the original post I got this idea from. But someone told me I could put mealworms in with my roaches to cleanup frass and stuff. Well I’ve now got some mealworms changing is this when I put them in? When I was trying to find the thread it seemed they put them in as normal mealworms? And just for fun here’s a freshly molted roach her black head was so cute. Thank u for any tips!!

I guess it all depends how large your roach colony is actually.

I am currently keeping more than 5K feeder roaches in a bin, I find it much easier to just rehouse them with a cleaner bin once a while.

Keep it simple is always the best.

Ok I only have around 75 lol they are just too big for any of my T’s except 2 ones in premolt and the other one is picky and only eats worms or crickets. So they are essentially my pets now😂 I’ll just continue to rehouse and clean. Thank h for clarifying this is for bigger colony’s!

Imagine being swamped with mealworms with only 14 Ts … not much I can do but toss them in the dubia bin.

Yeah it’s probably going to get out of hand but I doubt anyone local to me would trade feeders for slings etc . Or unlikely I could sell them for actual value . So I’ll probably be turning the heat down or off . I have two roach threads going if you want too see how huge . Although I kinda wish they had their own forum . Other people have colony’s in thousands mines not there yet.

Yes I do want to read! I was reading the one after the photos flies wiped u out😢 I’m lucky my temps in hotel are around 71-72 so no producing. But I want to eventually I could use the small and medium roaches up just these big ones I can’t. Do u have a local reptile store? Mine would trade but I also know them all. Or if it gets too out of hand I would buy some of the small ones!!

Maybe I need to learn to ship them , my local exotic shop buys them by the 1000s they probably get them cheaper then I’d be willing to sell .

Nothing wrong with caring for a lizard
omg I got the hookup on snakes and beardies and there’s a gorgeous iguana (mine passed about 6 years ago) but I REALLY REALLY want a chameleon. Problem is is space I’ve already been thinking of furniture to get rid of and stuff to donate to make space!! I’ve had lizards too but that was in high school and college which was 20 years ago (and turtles) but what lizard would u recommend?

Bearded dragons are generally popular.
