Hi everyone! I feel like I've scoured the internet trying to find acrylic enclosures or anything without a mesh top for my Arizona Blonde T and I'm on the hunt for a 12Lx8Wx8H and I found a tarantula cribs one with a sliding top and didn't know if there was any more makers besides Tarantula Cribs or HerpCult that isn't $100+ or more. I feel like us T keepers are very limited for enclosures. Any suggestions would be great!

If you got skills to make lids yourself which I can do but kinda forgot the important parts. Kritter keepers are my favorite beside glass aquariums. A few of mine have mesh lids but I can’t afford to replace them atm. And no signs of those ts climbing.
a plexi lid can run you $45+ or so these days so double the old price.

Acrylic for Ts is always $$$, esp when it’s marketed for Ts

It's my biggest struggle with T keeping. I've been looking and looking for uniform, affordable and well made enclosures for weeks on end.
Not exactly practical to spend $80+ on each one. And naturally the affordable ones have the mesh lids and need modifications.
I want my T shelf to look presentable. Not one xl kk, one 5 gallon aquarium with a modified lid, one converted amac box etc. The struggle is real.

Just look over and over on Craigslist, fb marketplace, nextdoor app for sales on enclosures. Even if your T is still tiny, eventually it'll need a big home. Start the search now.

I struggle to find nice small enclosures that are reasonably priced over here. A third of all my Ts are dwarf species that will never get larger than 3 inches/7.5 cm DLS, and even though they do just fine in the delicups I have them in currently, I'd love to have some nicer acrylic or glass enclosures for them. But it's insanely difficult finding something high quality that works with my budget. It's actually getting to the point where I'm seriously considering trying to build some myself with the leftover glass and aquarium silicone my dad has no use for.

Since we are on the subject of enclosures- would a 12x12x7 work for most terrestrials?

I'm trying to plan for my younggins right now. I've never seen a full grown T of any of my species and from what I've come to understand is most reports on adult size via google is incorrect. Urgh!

My adult chalcodes is about 4.5 inches. So I've been using her as a guide. Though I know some of mine will get bigger than her.

Gary Plastics on Amazon has the size you're looking for.
Can you post the link?

This isn't cleaned up yet, and not as "finished" looking as it could be (I ran out of sandpaper lol), but a $7 acrylic shoe box from Walmart will be my A. germani's permanent home soon. I just started working on these last night actually, figured it's worth showing as an option if you're into DIY!

The acrylic hinges were a 15 pack for maybe $5 or $6 on amazon, plus some super glue to hold them on better, and I used hot glue to seal the bottom piece of the front lid but I'm planning to get some silicone caulk for a better and cleaner seal/attachment. You can try different things for holding it closed, I was going to use hasps but my order got lost in the mail so I'm using some tiny command hooks + rubber bands for now as a closing/locking mechanism 😅 they'll be replaced once I get more hasps, or I might just leave them if they stay sturdy.

For terrestrial species you can keep the shoebox laying down normally and just add a locking mechanism for the lid to hold it down. Just add some ventilation and it's a great size for a lot of adult terrestrial species (this size is the regular-extra tall, measures 10.5 x 14.75 x 8.25 inches) though I think it might be a tiny bit snug for anything over 6 inches DLS, but maybe not?

if you go to Amazon and type in Gary Plastics it should pop right up. Happy to send a pm if needed.

Edit: I just went to look for it and couldn't find it, my bad. Sorry about that. I have two and I assumed they'd be there still.

Yes. I have her in a 5.5 gallon tank. It's 16Lx8Wx9H.
Saw a container I think I can make a decent enclosure out of and its 12x12x7.
Problem is my shelves are only 11 inches deep.

Is she using all of the tank though? If she is I wouldn't move her smaller
