Mine is a toss-up between the Coachwhip(Masticophis flagellum ssp.), both Eastern and Western, and the Taiwan Beauty Snake(Elaphe taeniura ssp.). I like Coachwhips because they actually seem fairly intelligent, are very alert and observant, and a poorly understood with an undeserved bad reputation, even among herpers, and I like the Beauties because they are BIG, beautiful(as the name suggests)and usually very mellow, friendly snakes.

Vipera berus, common european adder. Nothing is more beautiful then a freshly shed male on a sunny spring day!

Here´s a picture of one:

Corns are my favorite by far, but I like the looks of most of the asian ratsnakes too.

I'm with Jeff here.

Morelia spilota cheynei.

I had a female a while back from the Barker bloodline, I bought her from David and Tracy about 5 years ago. Her father is the Jungle Carpet that graces the cover of Pythons Of The World...and some turkey stole her...

I love the way red tail boas look... dont have enough money to get one though. I would have to say my favorite snake is my northern water snake... just because its the only snake I've ever had... and it eats alot of fish.

Lelle!

Beautiful snake! You may not have wild rattlesnakes there, but that is an excellent consolation prize. I would love to see one in the wild.

demolitionlover,

My daughter is with you. Her favorite venomous snakes are Cerastes cerastes and Crotalus cerastes.

My favorite snake has to be Crotalus lepidus klauberi, banded rock rattlesnake. There is nothing like seeing one basking on a talus slope. A VERY close second is Morelia viridis, Green Tree Python.

Right now my favorite would be the hognose. Pituophis are fascinating as well.

hmm, tough one. As far as favorite ONE snake, that would have to be my 5yr old female ball python Kyra. She's the best. She'll hopefully be a mommy next year, and ill be keeping all of the babies, I think, lol.

Favorite snake in general, Mangrove Snake, (Boiga dendrophila). Awesomely beautiful. I love how they pose when they are angry. But I would never own another one...from my experience, they just dont do very well in captivity, especially WC.
