It's hard to say goodbye to a friend, but I think you're truly doing the right thing by increasing captive populations and preserving these beautiful animals for future generations to enjoy, as well as allowing Walter the gratification of acting on his instincts. And maybe he will pass his Mr. Nice Guy genes to his spiderlings. Ask for a Walter Jr.

Mature males however seldom try to bite as they are only interested in mating and running.

Yes, he his handleable...but definately not like my G. rosea. You have to much more careful. As a matter of fact, if you look closely at my hand in the second pic you can see some clumps of hair...he gave me a heck of a dose!
If the mating is successful, he'll do 50/50...which means that I will have some to donate to the site! I don't think I'm equipt enough to handle that many little ones.
