Well i read somewere that you can start a dermestid colony with just one fertile female.I didn't belive it and so i tested it about 5 weeks ago.Two weeks went by i still didn't see anything but small specks moving[larvae!]and now after i figured out if it is warmer it takes less time for them to mature so i did this for the last three weeks and amazingly i have 3 big nearly full grown larvae and many meadum to small larvae.I have also noticed if i did not feed them[i didn't think there was any larvae]they eat their own dead they ate their mommy:evil:Anyway i thought id share what i learned also for those of you who are intreasted in the caresheet i read that said that one can start a colony with one fertile female[i refered her to the queen of this new larderbeetle colony]here is the site it is very informationable
