Good day everyone and welcome to yet another scaly birthday celebration!

Shown here is a lizard that some of you may not have seen or heard of yet, Luzon Giant Forest Skink (Sphenomorphus cumingi)

This was him when he was a baby. Barely 1.5" long amd rarely seen above the soil.

4 months later, he was a flamboyant wanderer :D

How to tame your dragon! :D (mini-Godzilla mode)

Taming the dragon, success!

Out and About

At 7 months old, Just chillin'

This makes for a good Lion King remake

The birthday boy!

Aww the baby is stressed hence, the stare down! :p

For his bday, he had lots of snails, millipedes and rotten figs that he loves sooo much :D

What a cute lil guy! Is he full grown now?

I'm very interested in animals that prey on millipedes. Is this species resistant to their defensive toxins or something?

Maybe to one, i've only seen him take on the small brown or black ones. He avoids pedes with yellow or red on them for some reason. It would be fun for you to know that they eat rotten figs to attract bugs including millipedes to their mouth and poop :D

What a majestic animal.

Maybe he avoids them due to the warning colors?

Maybe.. they are very visually in tune and can detect the slightest movement. When i first saw an adult specimen in the wild, it was literally rolling in millipede haven, a rotting log filled with fallen, rotten fruits. It is also interesting to note that the more millipedes they eat, the more vibrant red their eyes become :D
