No, in the the end it is not really the best of cages for whips IMO. I covered the top up but because of the way the cage is made it's really hard to completely seal it off. I also used a false bottom setup which holds a fair amount of humidity in but that cage is really well ventilated and hard to keep humid. I don't get any condensation as is...it works but there are better.Urbanjungles: I've seen the little setups...do you think he should completely seal it off? They seem to hold the ideal amount of humidity for alot of things(dartfrogs etc.). I've got my female tailess whip in a critter keeper that has a mostly gridded top. I've added some plastic wrap but it doesn't make much difference. About how humid are yours? Do you want condensation on the glass?
