Exo terra for gbb

Hey fellas! Happy lord's day!

Ive been searching through the forums past threads and ive been getting conflicting answers to this question i have..

Ive been thinking of getting the exo terra nano for my gbb when it turns into an adult. However, since the max size it becomes is 5 inches.. would 8x8x12 aboreal setup be okay? Or would it be pushing it? Again, past answers to this question has been mixed. Btw, i heard aboreal setups would be okay for a gbb.

GBB are terrestrial species.Arboreal enclosures are No No..Especially with adults.
You can make exo terra 12 inch cube work if you slope the substrate high in the back and up to the vent holes in front.But make sure you put it in when it is fully grown.

I agree, an arboreal setup would not be appropriate for a GBB. You can go with a taller enclosure if you’d like so that you can add a bit more substrate while also leaving a small amount of height to the top, but overall it still needs to be 1.5 - 2 DLS from the top of the enclosure. Since exoterras don’t allow for this, they wouldn’t be suitable for your spider.

Yes, you have by people that don't know the difference.

You will find TONS of "references" for the GBB being semi-arboreal. I posted about this a while back from a biologist who observed them in the wild. It's a terrestrial species. It has been observed to be in trees DUE to environmental pressures.

Given your T won't have such pressures, keep it in a terrestrial setup.

It's a very AGILE terrestrial species, not as massive as most other NWs, but it is not semi-arboreal.

Thank u guys! Always appreciate the clarifications. Juat wanna make sure im gonna do things right when it gets older. For now just brainstorming for the future!
