I went to mist my pinktoes, and my bigger female jumped out onto the table as soon as I opened the lid. I picked her up to look her abdomen over, just in case, and she turned around and shot poo right in my eye!

Ew! >_<

All I can say is safety glasses. I think I would rather be bitten than poo in the mouth. Mine have not poo'd on me yet.

Ok, serious question here (in a not-so-serious thread...heh...). For those of you who have had poop shot on your skin, in your mouth, in your eyes, god-knows-where-else.... Does tarantula poop have anything toxic in it like say, chicken poop or human poop? We all know that people can get TERRIBLY sick with any number of diseases after accidently/unknowingly/purposely (ewwwww) ingesting most feces. What about tarantula poop? Can that make a person sick?

Haha, that's how they say "thank you for your concern."

Julia: I've never had poop on my face before, or ingest as in your question, but I don't think it affects a human being. It's very mild.

I don't know, but I think it's mild. I mean, it's only digested cricket. Other animals eat so much wierd stuff when compared to a T.

I don't think it would be a problem, just really icky. :(

There are no toxic substances, just a few bacteria. It can make you sick, as would any poop on you but if you wash it off with a good anti-bac soap you will be fine. The chances of getting sick from tarantula poop are next to none unless you are swishing it around in your mouth on a daily basis.
