Ha, it was on my back porch walking around. I picked it up and in nailed me with a very strong smell of ammonia, REAL strong smell. It would've woken you up if you were passed out. It was very pink when I found it and was green the next day, about to make a cocoon. Don't know what species it is.

maybe a relative of the swallow tails. I noticed the two horn like projections near the head a swallow tail caterpillar can extend if threatened. These projections also cause a great stink, though ive never bothered one enough to get them to use it against me.

Well how hard can it be, I'm going to put it on shelf and see what it turns into. I'm familiar enough with the Swallowtails to know it's not one. The two little horns are there only because it's evil:rolleyes:

Galapoheros,

It is a prepupal heterocampa umbrata. Their pattern tends to dissapear when they are nearing pupal stage.
