it looks like an otter to me also, but the water in the pic looks odd(if you closely the splash meets the ripple).

Well, it is definately NOT an otter.

The photo is not edited beyond slight tonal adjustments.

I was going to say it was a manatee, but they are HUGE and the water looked soooo shallow.

A MANATEE! I saw my first manatees back this past February in a very shallow little creek(and very clear)just west of Chiefland, Fl. I'd gone down there for a Catahoula Leopard Dog trial, and was driving over this bridge, and saw these puff of "steam" rising up from the water. That's what caught my eye, making me look down into the water. The "steam", it turned out, was the breath of at least four manatees, which were lazily cruising around in the water below. They were so HUGE, like whales, it seemed, MUCH bigger than they look on TV! I felt very privileged to have seen such creatures, which I know are very endangered.

DAMN, I've lived in florida for 5 years and NEVER seen those <edit-the asterisk is still too obvious> WATER ELEPHANTS!!!!!!
