Hi guys,

I bought 3 speciemens of them, from a Tanzanian shipment..they were the "extra plus". Unfortunately a 1-2 legs are missing in every speciemen. But they are eating well, and fast.
Any info would be fine about keeping them. ;)

Here are the pics:

Wow! Those are awesome looking.

Love their overall fawn color and the "silver-back" effect on the carapace.

Thanks for sharing them with us.

Hi

It would be better if you keep them on sand!
I also have some of those and they also have not all feet!

Hi

You will have to put a waterbowl to them because they need high humidity at night. They will build trapdoors in the sand so you will have to give them much sand!

They aren't Eusparassus in my opinion, but Cerbalus sp.
Are you sure they come from Tanzania? I received some of them and they were from Egypt.
Keeping them on sand could be right, but let them a source of water or spray the tank each night.

Ema

Hi,

Thanks for the infos! I will put them into tall boxes with a lot of sumbstrate (I will mix sand with dry soil). I noticed, they like water..all of them has a waterbowl now. How deep should be the substrate 10cm?..or more?
It was a Tanzanian shipment, what doesn't mean they are not form Egypt. ;)

yes of course :)
I just wanted to inform you that they probably come from more "sandy" habitats.
I'd add a 15 cm deep substrate.
Cheers

Hi Ema,

As you know, Tanzanian importers are smart guys. This shipment delayed almost a year, and was full of not ordered animals.:D
I will try to keep them well, thanks for teverything!

For this reason I never ordered anything from those guys, cause I always heard strange stories about them (money lost, animals never arrived and so on).
Let me know if you'll breed them, cause I kept them, but they were two female and they never laid anything.
Cheers

Hey Imre,... some very nice additions !!!

like Ema and blackrose allready said, they're prob. cerbalus sp. and like it on more sandy substrate,... But maybe you should only add another top-layer to the substrate you're using now,... is that "lime" ?

i used to keep them like this:
bottom layer "lime" and top desertsand.

*edit,...
anyone aware of Eusparassus walkenaeri or Eusp.dufouri available in the European pet-trade ???

Hey Steven,

Thanks! :D
My current substarte is loam...from the wood next to my place. It was dry, but I misted It a bit before put them in...they were thirsty. As I see they like to be at the top of their boxes.
