Super cool! Would love to be able to keep this species one day.
Do you keep any other phasmid species?

Thanks for sharing,

I do, I keep the Indian ones (I forget the names). The ones that can reproduce asexually. Not as cool as these ones tho.

I recommend handling your male nymphs often, that way they'll be docile enough to handle when they're adults with giant terrifying leg spines.

Thanks shall do. Most seem to be fine but a couple of mine have some bad attitudes

Having been kicked multiple times by Heteropteryx dilatata I am going to try very hard not to ever have to handle these guys  . Early conditioning to handling is a great idea though.

I normally handle each one briefly weekly to clean them but I do occasionally handle them for longer periods.

Carausius morosus, PSG 1 ?
Eurycantha calcarata is one of my favorite phasmid species. I bred them for years.

Are they easy to breed? I'll definitely want more of these guys
They breed like crazy. Once it has started, it keeps going. Make sure you have an area with a deep damp soil layer, because they bury their eggs. Smart idea to have a removable egg laying tub, so that you can freeze the eggs you don’t need. You can easily get too many after a while.
