Eric's Herps (scroll down for cute feeding pics)

Hi guys, would also like to show some of my smaller herps. Some of my reptiles really did not want to be disturbed, so I left them alone. Here are the ones that "didn't mind." Enjoy! Again, sorry about the so-so image quality.

They are:
1 LVA leo gecko adult
1 TA leo gecko juv
1 PA leo gecko juv
1 Texas leucistic ratsnake neonate
1 Western hognose neonate

I have more, but I will save those for next time =]

I like your hognose snake. They are cool when they flatten their neck and hiss.

Surprisingly very well. He has taken a small pinkey every week.

Unfortunately, at this point he will only take live. I tried frozen and freshly killed pinkeys, all he does is shove it with his little nose and move on.

I used to feed my hognose snake small frogs and toads. Have you tried feeding them to yours? By the way, that is a beautiful corn snake :)

I think in the wild their natural prey are frogs... I've heard their rear fangs are used to puncture them?

In any rate, I would love to try frogs but (1) I think this little guy is too small and (2) no feeder frogs around here!

Most people pray to various deities their hognoses (east and west) will readily eat mice instead of holding out for frogs..do you really WANT to encourage it to switch BACK now that it's feeding well? :p

Hehe, that's true.

I should try instead to get him to feed pre-killed. His hunting skills are sloppy to say the least. As he gets larger and continues to eat live, I'd have to feed him several harmless mice instead of one dangerous one =/
