Hi I just got some Eresus slings today. Very excited about them!

very tiny still, bone dry enclosures. wondering if anyone can clarify temperature.

I've seen conflicting environment requirements - room temp/20°c and 23/24°c are the two tips I've found, but a few degrees is a big diff. It's winter here and the warmest places in my house are around 20. Will they need something warmer? Does it matter?

Thanks!

I have 5 eresus slings atm I keep them cooler than t's at 22 but 20 is fine they prefer it cooler from what I was told , I feed them every 3/4 days drop 3 fruit flys in they are always gone in a day , mine tend to use the body's in their web so if I try to take them the web comes to so I tend not to although I hate it 😆 I keep them dry, gave them a dram sub dry moss n corkbark but they all made homes at the top in the moss. Mine are good eaters and growers had them 4 months ish with atleast 2/3 moults each very cool little spoods 😊 enjoy your new friends.

Yes, yes and yes.
AT one point they will reduce growth but not die.

Thanks everyone! Good to know room temp is safe.

Ive never kept true spiders let alone spiderlings or anything so tiny, so I'm in the ARE THEY GONNA DIE phase still lol.

My apartment went down under 19 during the night. So I got a thermometer probe and a low watt heatpad keeping it under a wood table under their enclosures and the heat disperses just enough to stay at 23/24. Problem solved!

You'll get a much faster growth rate at that temp so they won't be tiny for long. I keep a few true spider species (12 atm ) and my eresus are the most placid n easy to care for imo so don't worry lots of food n dry moss they will be happy babbas 😊

Oh n make sure that heat matt has a thermostat heat matts are notorious for over heating. Although personally I think your temps are fine and you don't need it . Even my t's go down to 19 on a night sometimes as low as 18 depending on the weather and the eresus can take lower temp than t's , your baby's should be fine 😉
