Do you guys know any exact way to distinguish these two spiders ? I have 2 subadults, probably males, that I bought under name E. uatuman. But looking at some pictures made me doubt it, coz they look far more like E. cyanognathus ....
Blue fangs are pretty obvious.

It's simply way. Ephebopus cyanognathus has an electric blue chelicera, the uatuman hasn't.

You can find some expedient pictures here: http://www.ephebopus.com/pix.html

That's what I thought too, but I saw some pics labelled E.uatuman where spiders had blue chelicera too ... Otherwise I would be sure that I have E. cyanognathus. They look exactly like the juvenile cyanognathus on this picture.

Those pictures should be a mistake. Only cyanognathus has a blue chelicera.

Oh, sorry! You are right! I didn't remember so god....I read now, the uatuman's "prolateral femur has blue coloration". :worship:

Difference between two species the coloration of chelicera only(in superficial view of course).

I have male. It's not adult yet. On the pictures, adult males of both species don't have blue chelicera coloration. So how can I distinguish which one I have ?
On R. West's web, there is sling of uatuman, with no blue chelicera coloration. So I want to ask, if anybody has 100% E. uatuman here, If slings of this sp. never have blue fangs, even as juvies ....

I have a juv. about 2" and I have never noticed it having any blue on it's chelicera's, it is in it's burrow most of the time though so I don't see it very often so I am not positive that it has never had any blue?
