I'm devastated. I dont need any criticism or advice I know exactly what I did wrong and my colony I've had for almost a year paid for it. I was so proud of my Armadillium maculatum family. It's kind of embarasisng to cry over bugs. If anyone is wondering what happened, they dried up. I've read they prefer less moist environments compared to other isopods so I only moisten their enclosure every week or so. I suppose it has been very dry lately and I have been very distracted and I didn't realize how dry they were until it was too late. I genuinely feel so heartbroken and I am in so much emotional turmoil over this. I have made many mistakes in bug keeping but this one feels so bad I think this is not the hobby for me. Idk why I'm sharing this tbh I know I only really post on here when something bad happens so I know I come off as a pretty horrible bug owner lol

You know, everybody here at some point has made an error when it comes to animal keeping. But, just remember to learn from mistakes made and move forward. That's part of the learning process!

Sorry for your loss, our human errors hurt the most. Don’t beat yourself up, you’re only human

It’s not weird to cry over this kind of thing. When I was new to Jumping Spiders (Salticidae), I once caught one but when I went to release it it wouldn’t come out of the net, so I had the brilliant idea to flick the spider out. The small spider landed on the ground in a death curl. I genuinely cried, because it was my fault. But I learned from my mistakes and am now super careful with them. A lot of people get emotionally attached to our pets. That’s one of the main reasons we have them. So it’s totally okay to feel sad.
