These crickets I got from the store today are by far the biggest I've ever seen!!!! And they are not even adults yet!

How do they get their crickets to grow so big? I've raised some before and they only got about half this size... I fed mine fish flakes and oatmeal. Is there something lacking in their diet?

If you could, take a pic with them next to a quarter or something that we can relate to in size.

Ok I'll get a photo of them with a quarter

I'd say they are over 2 Cm long but I'm horrible with measurements

Ok here are the pics. Like I said these are the biggest acheta domestica I've ever seen. some wild field crickets naturally get large, but this species is generally smaller.
This girl isn't even an adult yet. she's gonna get even bigger than this!

There's a fish shop a few miles here that sell even bigger crickets than that. I don't know how they do it. The subadults are double the size of what I get at my local pet shop. The species appear to be the same too.

The cage size can shrink them severely so it's likely if you raise their offspring they'll be normal size.
I wonder if those are bigger than the hypermelanistic ones...

It's probably Gryllus bimaculatus than A. domestica. I used to breed them. They are much bigger.
