Question 1: The enclosures I use are 14.5"L, 8.6"W, and 9.6"H. Will a 2+" Tarantula be alright in this? I understand that opinions will vary on this question... However, I will be ordering some Old Worlds, and as oppose to using a deli cup and then transferring them after their next molt, why not just use the final enclosure? I'm getting burrowing species in. Cobalt Blue, and some Baboons for example.
Question 2: Jon3000 uses "vermiculite" in his enclosures mixed in with the substrate too help keep the humidity levels up. I cannot locate vermiculite ANYWHERE! Nor has anyone heard of such a named product. Any safe thoughts on what to use in the substrate to maintain higher humidity levels? I will need them once I order my P. regalis.

i am strongly against housing multiple ts of any kind in same enclosure other than pokies.. i never even housed them 2gether, tho im interested in trying. i know.... hypocritical right.. as far as humidity for youre p. reg, all i do wit mine is mist it thouroughly once a week and she seems fine, if you have alot of ventilization, you can always cover some with plexiglass

I think that would be fine. I like housing bigger so as to cut down on the rehousing. Plus with burrowing species, you can just drop crickets down the tunnel since you'll probably know where they are.

Vermiculite can be found in most hardware/gardening stores, Lowe's, Home Depot, etc. Can't really weigh in on using it as I never have.

Humidity can be kept up in multiple ways like fewer vent holes, having water for them in bottle caps/dishes, & wetting the substrate. Although for higher humidity enclosures, you may want to consider peat moss as it doesn't mold very well. My pokies do well with a bottle cap of water & I generally mist once a week when I feed. Your baboon won't need high humidity :)

yeah.. sorry.. i misread.. been a long day.. i DO think that the tank sounds a bit large, but it wont hurt the t any, it may take a lil longer to get used to, but it will get along fine... ive personally had a " burrowing" species per say, but my regalis sling has been burrowing a bit lately, and i got a B. Albopilosum thats freakin TINY that has been buried for a month. i forget who said it a few posts back, but if thats the case, you can just mist regularly and drop food near or in its burrow/ hole
