"Emperor" is of course a common name for Pandinus imperator(from Africa) and Asian Black is a common name that people use for several Heterometrus species. I think it's a good idea to ask for the scientific name when you think about buying something people are calling an "Asian Black" scorpion. Heterometrus are usually big, black scorpions like P, imps but are usually more defensive than P. imps. You might want to google Heterometrus and look at images.

Heterometrus Spinifers have cooler looking peidpalps(Claws):D

They're kind of bigger in terms of body to claw ratio when compared to an emperor.

I've never heard of them being called asian black before, but for one the two come from a different region.

Heterometrus species(asian forest/asian black?) are more defensive than pandinus imperators (emps), thats just from what I've read on the internet and dinky books. I've only had emperors, and they make a great beginner scorpion, they are ideal for the novice :)

dubias, why don't you take the time to nose around a bit on the site. The answers to your questions can all be found. Your questions are legit, but have been answered a bazillion times already, because most noobquestions are not original....

Btw, the answer is no, you can't keep different species together.

Nope, not sure. Just going by what it was sold as.
And crossing out a couple other species myself.
