Emperor scorpions

Kinda looking into scorpions. I’ve read getting true emperor scorpions are difficult and expensive to buy due to import laws? Are they still available for reasonable prices. Now I’m not sure if emperors being sold as such are true emperors.

What is a true emperor? In the US they average 60$ but can be over 100$. There are harder to find they before nut you can still find them.

By true emperor I assume they mean Pandinus imperator vs. P. dictator, P. cavimanus etc...

Many people breeding them, not horribly expensive for youngsters.

Thanks guys. Yeah I assume the tru emperors are the imperator. I read the false emperors are not as docile. But I don’t know.

Using terms like true or false creates confusion in and of itself...which I believe was the point being made by olll when asking what is a true emperor?....pointing out that by nomenclature...Pandinus imperator is accurately referred to as the Emperor Scorpion...

Common names are at best problematic most of the time. While it may seem a bit odd to people just begining into keeping of scorpions (or any taxa for that matter) you will quickly learn the value of binomials and trinomials when commumicating about specific species...it allows everyone to be on "the same page" so to speak.

true emperor would be imperator or dictator a "false emperor" would be a heterometrus species (asian forest scorpion) being sold as an emperor.

Pandinus imperator=Emperor Scorpion, the "true Emperor".
Pandinus dictator=Dictator Scorpion.
Pandinus cavimanus=Red Claw Scorpion.
Heterometrus sp.=Often labeled as Pandinus and is the genus behind most of the "false Emperor's".
