After owning multiple T's for a few years now I want to branch out and start owning scorpions as well. I decided to start out with a simple beginner Emperor Scorpion. I read a lot about them but I was wondering if there was a few things I can get clarified first before I go ahead and purchase the animal. I read that the most recommended size is a 10 gallon breeder tank for an adult, however the one I want to purchase is about 2 1/2 to 3 inches. Should I start it out in a 5 gallon critter keeper for a bit or should I just put it in a spare 10 gallon that I have? If so when should I upgrade to its adult enclosure size? I also read on a couple different sources that you should dust its food with a calcium supplement, however I saw other websites stating the complete opposite, so which is true? Those are my only two main concerns but if there is any other care tips for them that a care sheet doesn't tell you would be greatly appreciated. Every website I went on just tells me basic feeding/housing nothing more on the actual care of the animal.

They are a forest species and appreciate moist conditions. I'd use a 4-5" bed of coco & vermiculite and plenty of places to hide. Decor could consist of artificial plants & sphagnum moss.

I have always been a believer in if you have a large enclosure and a small scorpion place a divider in the tank. Nothing fancy, just a piece of perspex held in place at the bottom with large stones and tape the top corners. Don't use a material for the divider that the scorpion can climb. When the scorpion is larger just remove the divider. If the tank is large enough you can always put in two dividers.

You do not need to dust with calcium. I don't know if it is harmful, but even if it's not harmful it's 100% a waste. Just feed and hydrate the crickets for a few days and that's all you need do.

Temperature in the mid to high 80s humidity 75 - 80% Nice moist substrate, not to wet though. 2 good hides so it can . choose . Calcium supplements not required and as @darkness975 says waste of money, only required for reptiles to help with D3 absorption and bone development.
