I wrote a pretty comprehensive care sheet for emperor scorpions which I'm quite happy with, wanted to get your opinions on it too :)

I think it covers more or less every aspect of their care and I hope anybody who's looking to start keeping them will find it useful.

Anyway, heres the link: http://www.reptileexpert.org/emperor-scorpion-care/

Let me know what you think :)

I don't have time to read it, but you can compare it with the ones in my signature.

It's a common courtesy that if you "borrow" photos off flickr that you actually *link* to the photo pages on Flickr, as explained on Flickr self.

Also, you might want to link to related resources, e.g. my http://johnbokma.com/mexit/2008/03/20/pandinus-imperator-terrarium.html and I might return the courtesy.

Oh, and don't put rel="nofollow" there, or worry about PageRank leaking. Linking out to relevant resources is good.

Well if you want my honest opinion, I think it was very good for a beginner to read, however I STRONGLY disagree with your handling method. I believe the best way to handle them, would be to gently stroke them with a paint brush, and place your open palm in front of them, or behind them, and have them walk on your hand. Picking a scorpion up by the stinger, or below the stinger, can very easily harm the scorpion, and in some cases the scorpion will sting you if done wrong. So tell this method to a bunch of people who are new to scorpions, and your gonna have some problems. Another issue, you should mention the fact that the water dish, and any other heavy object, should be strategically placed so that you do not have any injuries/death due to "cave ins" or burrows collapsing. And heating pads are not the best choice. A heating lamp of some kind with red or blue bulbs is ideal. Or actually, a well heated room maintained at the proper temperature is ideal, but that is not always an option. Although some people have success using a good space heater in there room, with NO individual heat source for there tarantulas or scorpions. But you did a good job explaining the basic needs regarding proper temperature, substrate, and feeding.

Hey mate,

Yeah all of the images on the website are creative commons, but you're right I should be linking back to the flickr profile page (I have been doing this on newer care sheets however this is one I wrote a little while back and have been meaning up update it), its been added to my to do list.

And I'd never dream of rel="nofollow", and does anybody even pay attention to pagerank these days? Its a pretty useless metric nowadays.

Yup, people pay still attention to PageRank, that's why you see nofollow everywhere. In my opinion Google "invented" this to break the power the blogs had by confusing people and "selling" it as an anti-spam measure. Even the name, nofollow, is very misleading.
