On Friday I gave a presentation on tarantulas to children for the first time. Kids are naturally curious, so it was a real pleasure.
It was my friend's class of fourth graders, and they had been reading Charlotte's Web. I applaud my friend for leading the kids in researching spiders, bridging from a work of fiction into science. You see, she really doesn't like spiders; I'm amazed she asked me to bring them in.
I put up pics in my photo thread, have a look- Aunt Ant's presentation
I have a feeling there may be future keepers in the making!
Have any of you used your collections to educate? It's so awesome, I can't wait for another opportunity
