I purchased a w.c. female, around June. 3rd, and found out about a month later she had made a sack!! Caught me totally by surprise, as she is only barely 4"! Well.........after making a great sack, she abandoned it after about 2 weeks, so I made a crude incubator, much like the one Phillip described, with some minor changes. And I put it on top of my L.parahybana cage, and it is a constant 80deg. Much sooner than I thought possible, it is hatching, and now I have at least 300 eggs with legs!!! Almost every egg hatched!! I am so excited!! Not bad for a first incubating attempt.

She was a great mother, and made a great sack, but I think she was just too young, and got very thin, even though I cautiously fed her occasionaly. A very new import, and I think the stress was just too much.........though she is fine now, and eating like a pig, and fattening up nicely!!:D And special thanks to Joy, thank you for putting up with all my questions and worries, your advice was golden, and without it, I would not have been successful!! Your experience with this species helped alot, and you are truly a a great example, and epitome of what this hobby should be about!! Oh...........late Happy Birthday!!! Best wishes, David. :D =D

Thanks Phil...........

Oh yeah............I forgot to thank you Phil!! That incubator you described worked to perfection, and I really needed the advice on construction, because I was kinda caught off guard, and was in a pinch, as far as constructing something very quickly. Thanks again for your knowledge and help, it was much appreciated!:)

that is SO awesome!
glad to hear it turned out well.
and yes, both Joy and Phil give great advice :)
I remember calling Joy last summer.... freaking out at the large number of B albopilosum spiderlings that had emerged, and wondering what the heck to do with them all.
She was extremely helpful :)
I even got to meet her at the ATS convention this year :)
Phil is always right there for advice as well!

Yeah, we just purchased one a week ago and she laid an eggsack 2 days after we got her. He actually had a male, but were planning on letting her molt once before introducing them. Ours also seemed too small to be gravid. How long did they incubate?? Our eggsack is huge. She almost has to stand vertically on top of it if it is turned a certain way.

Glad I could pass on something helpful. After all that's a large part of why we are all here.
