Temper

Well,,Emmy has a "violent" feeding behavior i.e she goes full attack when prey is in front of her.
She bit me once.
Meaning a seperate feeding cage is a must for her.
Besides that she's a sweety, take her out of the cage and she is a number 1 display snake.
I think the biggest on records for this speices is 7'2.

It is one of the most goodlooking snakes out there.
The body pattern looks like roses.

I agree they are a drop dead gorgeous boa, and Emmy is a nice specimen. They are from Madegascar. I don't doubt 7'+ is the record, however between 4'-6' is a more common size. They get very full bodied. Because the brood is small, the individuals are large at birth. This is probably the best pet boa considering size, beauty, and temperment. It is the total package in my opinion.

I have a question. Does anyone know if they keep their salmon pink color into adulthood? I heard they lose this as they get bigger. How big is Emmy?

Size

Emmy is about 4 feet, give or take a couple of inches.
Give or take is her reluctanct to let her last neck inches to be measured.:)

I held her above my radiator and let her stretchout on it and the radiator is 4 feet long, and plus her last neck+head is beyond that.

She's also shedding right now, so I'll have a fresh photo of her doing this also our natural enviroment here is right for that for the moment.
Temp is about 82 degrees and dewpoint is 72 + the extra degrees from the emitter.
