I put lettuce, carrots, bananas, etc... they like any kind of fruits and veggies, except citrus. They don't seem to like dog food. I hope your's produce better than mine.

I have been worried about that.... the tub sits on my laptop which I am going to leave on till I get some heat tape..... I am not sure if they are settling in well or not, I have had them a few days and seen tons of molt skins and new white bodied roaches running around.... so I guess Ill cross my fingers.

One weird thing did happen though, I put one in with a T and she attacked it and was holding it down.... I came back later and the T had taken the roach and put it in the corner laying on its back still alive. And while it was laying there she kicked out some eggs..... a cluster of about 9 or 10. Later still I came back and the T was eating the eggs, but not the roach the roach was still sitting in the corner alive. I took the roach out and put it back with the colony 4 days later.

What you are feeding them sounds good. You could go to bugchick.com and blaberus.com and look at their caresheets. Blaberus.com sells roach buffet, that you could feed them. Also, I grind cat food (because I have cats) in a coffee grinder, but some people throw the kibble in whole, you can do a search for past threads on the debates whole vs. ground up.

Also, try to feed males, not females, that will help your colony grow faster. Do you need help with sexing?

For dry food i feed dog, cat , fish and chicken food. I use different kinds and try to give 2-3 kinds at a time, some they like better than others of course. Some are higher in protien than others but i dont worry to much as long as i give a good variety. I also feed a variety of produce 2-3 times a week.
