Hi guys:)My next question is how do you raise the humidity for your dubias.I've seen a lot of videos about dubia colonies, but never seen something like dump towel or something like that.So can i keep them only on cap of water for drinking or having something to raise humidity is a must?

Mine don't seem to care about humidity levels much. They need a source of moisture but a chunk of squash, orange, or some crisp lettuce seem to work fine for them if you don't want to use a water dish. Even if it is very dry they have no problems molting.

Thanks for the reply:)About the greens(lettuce,etc.)-do you buy it,or it is home production?Couse they use chemicals on everything green-here in my country, and i am afraid to give the roaches and the crickets anything from the market, then it goes to my T's and i don't wanna think what happens next.....

Well, at the risk of sounding like a hippie, which I'm not, just into fitness and nutrition

Google sprouting and/or wheatgrass. I grow wheatgrass and sprout close to 20 different greens in my kitchen. It's very simple and inexpensive. It is also very healthy, especially in your case. Use it for yourself and your family, and throw the roaches the leftovers. Mine gobble them up. You can order organic, pesticide free seeds online..

Also, as stated above, as long as they have a moisture source don't worry about the humidity. We get months of wet weather followed by a hot, bone dry summer here. My Dubia happily reproduce all year round.

Of course organically grown or home grown would be the safest to feed your roaches. If you must get it from the supermarket you should wash it thoroughly to remove as much as possible of whatever might be on it but this is no guarantee of its safety. You could also feed them only the inner parts of foods that can be peeled (like oranges and squash) so topical insecticides are not ingested.

Not to state the obvious, but:

If you can buy it from the grocery store and eat it yourself, then it is OK for the roaches to eat as well. They are less suceptable to chemicals than humans are. Feed them any greens, veggies or fruit that is ok for you to eat also.

I just use water crystals, throw in veggies sometimes, dog food/oatmeal mix as a staple food source.
