I want to use dubias but I only have one T (for now) so I was wondering if I order only males, how long are they going to live?

I only have 5 t's but the local pet store in my area sells them. 10cent for baby's 50cent for juvi and 1 dollar for adults. I switched to roaches completely.

Just order like once a month or once every 2 months. It really depends on how big ur t is and how much u feed it. As long as u keep the roaches fed u should b fine.

How many do you plan to buy? I've had a dubia roach last 3 months in my G. rosea's enclosure with no food and only a water dish for the T. I actually have another one in there because I tried to use them again but she doesn't go for them and they burrow very fast.

I originally planned to buy 50 or so but then I realized that if I only bought mature males then they won't last long enough for me to feed them all off. I was thinking about ordering once a month or so but I just wanted to hear some other ideas

Hello fellow Minnesotan :D
I'd say that with only one tarantula, it can be worth it, but it can also be a bad idea. You can always sell the extra ones off on the internet, and they're very interesting animals to have. You can also keep them at room temperature to keep them from growing and breeding too quickly. Mine took almost a year to mature because of the temps I kept them at. If you aren't interested in selling them or raising them for fun, then it probably isn't worth it with only one tarantula.
