I'm so confused. My massive avicularia braunshauseni decided to drop her leg! We got her from a pet store a few months ago. She was in a tiny container. She was too big and beautiful to leave behind. So we brought her home and gave her the perfect set up! She's been webbing a lot more, so it's almost like she knew she was gonna drop her leg. I was floored when I seen it. Why would this happen?

She seemed to be walking around just fine. Someone suggested corn starch, but I'm thinking I should just let her be since she's so deep into her web?

Corn starch helps them to stop bleeding so if she isn't actively leaking there's no point. Best to let her chill and keep her hydrated for now 👍

She’ll regenerate the leg in a few molts. They can close off the hemolymph from their leg joint if they need to eject it so they don’t bleed out. She’ll be fine.

Like stated if it’s dropped a leg then it will begin regenerating it with subsequent molts!
