Here are a couple Dragonfly shots I took this week. The bright red one is my favorite. This particular one was hanging out in the morning sun in the back yard.

Ive seen this happen twice in my life. Usually late in the year, my entire backyard is swarming with these. Hundreds and hundreds of them like a scene from a horror movie, except they dont run into you.
Anyone else experience this?

I have...right now actually. The dragonflies are extremely plentiful at the moment. Also quite territorial...against anything. They don't attack me, but they hover pretty close. Even so, I haven't been able to get any good shots...

My husband blames me for what he calls the "dragonfly sanctuary" because we have a bunch that hang out on the front patio stones. Nothing like the ones you have! Mine are all small and a light blue. But they love me they land on me all the time when I sit out there. I think they know I like them.
