I see a lot of these in Kansas. I was wondering if anyone knows the species.

i can guess that its a darter dragonfly looking at the abdomen but thats all i know

Looking at my dragonfly id book, this looks like a male Widow Skimmer (Libellula luctuosa). Females are yellow/brown. Distribution is most of US.
