Ok, maybe not that impressive going from two to four T's, but for me,I got some good ones. I met a local breeder at the mall and he sold me a 2" C. cyaneopubescens, and a 4" P. murinus. I was a bit concerned with the OBT given my inexperience and everything I have read on this board about how fast and defensive this T is. I rehoused the GBB without any problems, and as soon as I took care of the OBT, it was off to the bar for beer and burritos. I should have told my friends I would be late. I put the 2.5gal tank inside a storage bin in case the transfer didn't go as planed. I then find out the container will not fit inside the tank, which is ok because I was told you only have to nudge them with paint brush to get them into the deli cup. Well she took off, ignored the deli cup and ran down into the storage bin. I got the lid on in time, but now what do I do? Every time I moved the lid she would do laps around the container, and the pitter patter of her feet on the plastic actually sounded pretty funny. I took the lid off and figured I'll just have to chase her around the room until she gets tired. She actually let me cup her and the rest of the transfer went well. OBT's are faster than the Curly and rosie I have now but she never put up a threat display. I had a couple of extra beers because, well, I needed them. Also, because I know it is not going to work, What HTML do I have to add to the URL so my pictures just pop up on the thread? THanks

Congrats on the new T's! I love OBT's, they have to be one of my favorite. And I love the sound of their little feet pitter pattering when they run around, it's quite cute. :)
Oh and for the pictures, if you get a photobucket acount (photobucket.com) you can just copy and paste the IMG code and the picture will show up.

well those links worked:) beautiful pics and T's

congrats on the new T's. i have one adult C cyanopubescens and two juvenile P murinus.
my two P murinus are actually very shy. one got a bit dehydrated and after some initial fear allowed me to hand water her. they are under 2 inches though in size. i wouldn't try that with a larger one, and i only did that because she was obviously a little weak. to be honest i'm a bit more nervous about them now haha!
what i've heard about murinus in general though is that they are more shy and curious than bad-tempered and inclined to escape. by shy, i mean they would rather run and hide than attack, but given no choice, they've a nasty venom.

but of course individual T's will have different personalities.

now i have a dumb question to ask...i've heard this term OBT used in relation to these quite often, but no idea what it stands for:eek: could someone please enlighten me?:D i can only assume it's "old b****** tarantula" LOL

Emperor, OBT is just an easier name that stands for "Orange Bitey Thing" or "Orange Baboon Tarantula". Easier to spell & it describes the  personality!

Congratulations, those are lovely looking Ts. I think they are both excellent choices for your collection, you have a nice mix now of different looking spiders with different temperments. Enjoy that C. cyaneopubescens, they are awesome Ts :)
