Wow how beautiful! :p
I love sailfins. How difficult would you say they are to care for? The only reptile I've ever owned was a Chinese Water Dragon, is their care relatively the same?

Keeping them here is very easy. The only issue with them is that they need a HUGE enclosure. I gave her my 3 meter (L) × 1.5 meter (W) × 3 meter (H) backyard space furnished with long, really hardcore tree trunks instead that used to house my 4 foot water monitor lizard. Notice she does not have any nose rubs/mouth rot/wounded snout problems as compared to some adults i've seen that are kept in captive care (except for zoos). If ever you see a sailfin online with a wounded mouth it means their enclosure is small for their size.

As for compared Cwd care, i would say yes almost the same.

Wow, it is really beautiful. The patterning on the scales is so intricate! (For some reason I thought these were green though? Is it only males that are green?)

Sounds awesome! You should definitely post some pics of the setup, it sounds amazing!

You should name her Gojira. Japanese for Godzilla and an amazing metal band.

She is greenish under a different lighting spectrum. Male have metallic green colors though.

Nothing really fancy. Just a crude, rectangular, cement wall-sided house. She has a wide basin of water for her bathing habits, a couple of tree trunks and everything else is bare. I kept it as spacious as possible. She also free roams the house during the day since she rarely moves and just sits there unlike monitors which are active walkers.

I will put that on top consideration. I am a quarter Japanese so that counts! Lol
